What is health coaching?

Health coaching is a collaborative, client-centred process that helps you understand your health, behaviours, and patterns and make changes that are realistic and sustainable for your life.

Rather than telling you what to do, health management supports you to:

  • Become the CEO of your health

  • Understand what’s really going on beneath the surface

  • Build awareness, confidence, and self-trust

  • Create habits and systems that support long-term health and wellbeing

Is this therapy or counselling?

No - health management is not therapy or counselling.
It doesn’t diagnose, prescribe, treat or replace psychological care.

Health management focuses on the present and future, helping you build skills, awareness, and strategies for change. If therapy or counselling would be more appropriate, I’ll always encourage/refer that support alongside or instead of sessions.

How many sessions do I need?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, and that’s intentional.
Some clients benefit from 1–2 focused sessions to work through something specific or gain clarity. Others choose the 6-week program for deeper support, structure, and momentum. We’ll always talk through what feels most appropriate for you.

How is health coaching different from seeing my doctor?

Doctors are essential for diagnosis, medical care, and treatment.
Health management complements this by focusing on:

  • Day-to-day habits and lifestyle

  • Behaviour change and accountability

  • Understanding patterns and barriers

  • Ongoing support

Think of health management as helping you bridge the gap between knowing what’s good for you and actually living it.

Do I need to know exactly what my goal is before starting?

Not at all. Many people come in feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or stuck. Part of the process is helping you clarify what you want, why it matters, and what’s realistic right now.
